Bridging Britain is a Pakistani brainchild enterprise with an aim to facilitate and support trade across ethnic boundaries (locally and internationally) as well as to bring people from across ethnic divides together through events, publications and alliances of cultural/social and economic interest.

The proposition is to identify untapped potential in UK ethnic segment through trade and business activities through structured products &services that bridge ethnic and mainstream markets (and people).

This company is the first of its kind professional platform with a unique business model which aims to empower businesses from ethnic minority backgrounds in the UK – Pakistan, India, Srilanka, Bangladesh and West Africa.

The target market is those ethnic companies which do not have or have little access to research or the means and knowledge of strategy for the distribution of their products and services. Their growth is thus stymied and stunted because of the absence of the mentioned tools – the void of which is what we are aiming to fill.

The ultimate purpose of this initiative is to create sustainable, commercial, social and cultural bridge among ethnic minorities and Britain, and to enhance cohesion and integration in the country whose social landscape has over the decades become a truly multi-cultural one.

Colours of Inspiration is a south Asian arts promotion enterprise operating simultaneously from South Asia and the UK. It specializes in creating a bridge between Britain and its all-time strategic interests in Asia and vice versa. This enyterprise provides local artists with an opportunity to promote their art internationally through COI’s global reach with ART galleries, Art connosuirs and lovers.

The Civil Society Relay project is an inspiring new initiative in partnership with Euclid Network, Acevo UK & Stimulus Pakistan. The project aims to facilitate the connection of civil society leaders throughout the world. This will be done by providing an informal space for leaders of Civil Society Organizations to share experiences on the formation and running of leader’s associations, as a means to create a more structured and organized third sector.

Leader associations provide civil society organizations assistance with: Governance, membership and democratic structures.Business development and intellectual property.Communication, advocacy and lobbying.Practical issues such as developing an effective website, membership database, and financial procedures. They are also a source of professional development programmes, peer reviews and leadership training. Because of this, the project aims to connect leaders of civil society organisations, and to generate guidance on forming your own leaders associations in your own countries. These local associations will be supportive of one another and provide great opportunities for the cross-border sharing of good-practice. In the current global economic situation, cooperation has never been more important. The ‘Relay’ project takes its name from the famous athletic baton race. It is essential that non-profit organisation leaders work as a team. They must pass on wisdom, advice and learning. Most of all, they should have their eyes on efficiency and success, the qualities of any winning team. aims to accumulate, organise and illustrate relief work currently undertaken in Pakistan by private and public sector organisations, educational institutions and not-for-profit entities. The devastation caused by the floods has resulted in a massive influx of funds from individuals and organisations from across Pakistan and the world; and we intend to provide a centralized portal that will keep track of the money trail. Historically, an oft-repeated refrain raised in such scenarios is that of transparency and accountability of funds that are raised for relief, rehabilitation and reconstruction. From international donor agencies to those making one-off contributions, everyone asks the question: are these funds reaching those who need it the most?

When the floods hit, most of us were unsure where to donate and who to trust. This resulted in fragmented and sporadic relief efforts with diluted impact. Scarcity of information further compromised the efficacy of these efforts.

The purpose of this portal is to maximize the impact of the entire gamut of relief work. By consolidating the information of all monetary and non-monetary contributions, we can guesstimate how much has been contributed to relief efforts so far and how much more is required. After the immediate response to ensure protection and survival of the 20 million people affected by the floods, we – as a nation – need to take measured steps for their rehabilitation and reconstruction – one community at a time. Equipped with the right information at the right time, we can together make the right decision on when, where, what, how and howmuch to contribute.
